Welcome to Moonie State School. Our school is a part of the Warwick Education District with staff attending most training days in Goondiwindi and Toowoomba.
Our School however still competes in the Tara District Sports Competition and is a part of the Tara Western Alliance cluster of schools as well as the MacIntryre cluster of schools.
Currently our school has an enrolment of 45 children - Prep to Year 7. Classes are split as: Prep/3/4, 1/2 and 5/7. Staff consists of 2.4 teachers, 4 teacher aides, cleaner, gronds person and Administration Officer. All staff undertake vaious training days each year in their relevant field/s. Our school is heavily involved in sport as well as academic and various cultural activities. In 2007, our school was approved as part of the Federal Governments Active After School Community program and this program continues at our school. During Terms 1 & 4 the children participate in KIDFIT classes and duringTerms 2 & 3 the focus is Athletics.
Education Queensland's SMART MOVES program is implemented daily at our school with 30 minutes of physical activity undertaken by the children each morning.
Our community has been affected by drought for many years now, however support for the school never waivers with all parents, staff and community members assisting whenever needed.
